The 10th Malaysian Jamboree will be held from the 16th till 24th August 2002. Announced by the Malaysian Scouts Association early this year, this jamboree will be the first-ever to be held in Kedah. The Kedah Scouts Association, the host of this jamboree, is pleased to support this national youth event and extends its warm welcome to Scouts from all over Malaysia.

The theme of the 10th Malaysian Jamboree is "Pengakap Menjana Kecemerlangan Insan" or "Scouting Promotes Individual Success". The patriotic theme is in line with the Scouting vision of developing Scouts to become successful individuals who play their part in contributing to the nation.

The Jamboree will be held at Rimba Taqwa, Sik, Kedah Darul Aman. It is located 3 km from the town of Sik, 90 km from the state capital, Alor Setar, 60 km from Sungai Petani and 40 km from the North-South Expressway (PLUS) Gurun exit. The 25 acres Jamboree site will be located at Kompartment 16, Bukit Enggang Forest Reserve.

There is an expected 3000 Scouts from all over Malaysia and from neighbouring ASEAN countries who will be participating in this event. Scouts, Scouters and Commisioners will be representing their state in a contingent (13 contingents). They will then be divided into 7subcamps. All participants will be given Jamboree items; T-shirts, scarf, badge, guidebook, activity book, cap and a Surah Yassin (for Muslims).

The Jamboree site is equipped with major facilities such as a public phone booth, toilets, bathrooms, and accommodation spots. Other facilities including a bank, post office, tourist information centres, sundry shops, hospital, etc. are located in the vicinity. The payment structure is as follow:
